Silver Ships Named Small Business of the Year Award Finalist
Theodore, AL (June 17, 2021) – Silver Ships, Inc. has been named one of three finalists for the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Awards.
A volunteer committee reviewed and evaluated all submissions and choose finalists from information provided regarding: Business Growth, Operations and Impact; Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Business Strategy; Customer Service and Market Strategy; and Community Involvement.
Silver Ships persevered through a challenging 2020 to reach sales goals and gain new customers. These successes can be attributed to the team’s commitment to strong customer service; the company’s solid financial position; a steady pipeline of projects and leads; an incredibly hard-working team; solid relationships with partner outfitting vendors; and overall leadership and guidance from the top down.

The criteria for entry into the Small Business of the Year Awards includes:
- In business for more than five years
- Mobile Area Chamber member for three years
- 100 or fewer employees
- Solid financial base
- Demonstrates sales growth/profit, unit growth, new product line, growing number of employees and/or innovative initiatives
- Evidence of good business practices
- Community service contribution(s)
- Must be a privately-owned, for-profit entity (non-franchised)
- Headquartered in Mobile, Baldwin or Washington counties
The finalists will be honored at the Chamber’s Small Business Awards Ceremony on August 26, where the winner will be announced.
