Silver Ships Conducts Training with New Montenegrin Navy Response Boats

Silver Ships Delivered Four of Seven Coastal Fast Response Boats to Navy
Silver Ships has completed the construction and delivery of the first four coastal fast response boats (CFRB) under a contract award worth $6.12 million from the Naval Sea Systems Command. The vessels were designed and constructed as a part of the U.S. Navy Foreign Military Sale (FMS) program and will benefit the NATO Navy, while the other three boats support a Central American Navy upon delivery. Each CFRB was inspected in Alabama and accepted by the Navy.
“I have to have a boat that can go 100 miles offshore comfortably but have the speed and agility to do short tows as well,” he [Capt. Mike Del Grande] says. His Silver Ships deep-V hull, with its D-shaped foam-and-air hybrid buoyancy collar, offers the seakindliness of a RIB while maintaining the hull’s 8-foot working width. Twin 300 hp outboards reach 53 mph. “That boat gets us to the calls fast, and does it safely,” he says, and he finds the thick, hand-welded aluminum hull “virtually indestructible.”
New Fireboat Delivered to Cape Coral Fire Department
The Freedom 30 aluminum fireboat is the second vessel delivered by Silver Ships to the Cape Coral Fire Department in the past two years. Powered by twin Suzuki DF350 outboards, the 30-foot-long new build includes a walkaround cabin and special features enabling fast, fire response missions. The vessel is equipped with a Simrad electronics package including radar and side scan sonar, as well as a Nite Track night vision camera.
In 2024, more than 40 vessels were either delivered or in production for law enforcement and emergency services for municipalities, military, local fire districts, counties and state agencies. Silver Ships are custom-built patrol boats for surveying and research missions, first-responder workboats, landing crafts, search and rescue boats and counterterrorism, search and rescue, training and command and control.
