Silver Ships Makes a Second Appearance on Lake of the Ozarks
Silver Ships, Inc. announces its second fire boat delivery to the great Lake of the Ozarks community in central Missouri.
The fireboat’s 34-foot frame is the perfect size for patrolling the Lake of the Ozarks and providing the community with fire suppression support, EMS services and rescue from hazardous conditions. The Lake Ozark Fire Protection District takes pride in responding to the needs of citizens and the community by fully utilizing its resources, and the new Silver Ships fire boat is a great addition to resources available. Having access to one fireboat has changed the game for response and rescue on the Lake of the Ozarks, and now adding a second fireboat to the community will increase safety and decrease response time.
Featured on the vessel are Triple Mercury Verado 350HP outboards to provide efficient cruise and response speeds in excess of 45 MPH. It also sports a Duramax Marine Diesel powering a Hale of 80FC pump and a Class 1 Total Pressure Governor Pump engine control system to ensure a fast and efficient response rate.
The fireboat includes a Forward 1250 GPM Monsoon Monitor on quick release that can be swapped out with a 5” Storz connection for supply and two Forward 2.5” Connections, along with a roof mounted remote controlled 2000 GPM Monsoon Monitor. In addition, there are two aft 2.5” Connections. Technology is up to date on this vessel with two Garmin GPSMP7612 displays, a Garmin 18 XHD radar and a Garmin GC 10 Standard Image Marine camera. A FLIR M324S provides visibility to assist in locating persons in the water in low light conditions.
Its dedicated EMS features allow both ramp and patient pass through in the forward side of the cabin and can load persons from a beach or pier. Large enough to allow passage of a stokes basket, two side doors allow persons to be recovered from either port or standard side. Two patient transport benches are stationed in the cabin with ample storage for EMS equipment.
The original vessel Silver Ships built for the Lake Ozark Fire Protection District years ago will still be in service in a different capacity on the lake.
