Silver Ships: Setting the Standard for Workboats Since 1985
Silver Ships is proud to celebrate its 35th Anniversary in 2020. Since Silver Ships’ founding in 1985, we have worked to provide customers with high quality workboats that are designed to fit their mission-specific needs and stand the test of time, despite often facing challenging conditions on the water.
Silver Ships was founded by Mike McCarty after he spent over 20 years in the commercial fishing industry. In 1990, Silver Ships built its first aluminum RHIB and by 1995 we began building boats for state and federal contracts. We currently have boats operating on a worldwide basis and we have provided a variety of vessels to different cities, states and federal organizations across the U.S. to help increase each community’s safety on the water. Some of these include a fire rescue boat for the Islip Fire District on Long Island, NY and a patrol vessel for the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
Silver Ships has also been designing and manufacturing military patrol boats for the United States military for over 30 years. We are proud to help those who serve each day by providing them with vessels that are equipped to handle the most difficult missions. We are honored to have been awarded dozens of military contracts over the years to build vessels for the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Army and Air Force, as well as various allies around the globe.
The many trade shows we have attended and outfitting partners we have worked with throughout the years have attributed to our focus on new innovations and quality of our workboats each year. We know the coming years will be just as, if not more, successful than the past 35 because of our employees’ drive to constantly improve and innovate.
Thanks to our highly skilled design, engineering and production teams, we continue to fulfill our goal of providing high-quality boats that are custom designed to meet our customers’ specific operational needs. We are proud to produce reliable and durable boats that are built to perform in even the harshest conditions.
“Without hardworking employees and great customers, Silver Ships would not be the company it is today,” said founder Mike McCarty. “Thank you to everyone who has helped us along the way. As much as we are proud of our past, we eagerly look ahead to the future and many more years of success.”
We appreciate all of our customers, partners, vendors and employees who have played a role in our success over the past 35 years. Thank you all!
