AMBAR 700 Workboat Delivered to Maine Marine Patrol
A Silver Ships Ambar 700 workboat was recently delivered to the Maine Marine Patrol Bureau of the Maine Department of Marine Resources. The 23-foot workboat will support Maine Marine Patrol Officers’ mission of enforcing state and federal fishing regulations, search and rescue, public health and strengthening maritime security in coastal and tidal areas of Maine.
The Maine Marine Patrol was founded in 1869 and is the oldest law enforcement organization in the state of Maine. The highly trained law enforcement officers of this bureau conduct investigations and enforce Maine’s marine resource laws and regulations, as well as other laws within the jurisdiction of the State of Maine. The AM700 law enforcement workboat will further support and advance the marine enforcement mission of the Maine Marine Patrol.
Silver Ships custom-built 23-foot vessel is powered by a single Mercury 350HP outboard engine and will be operated by marine patrol officers inshore, near shore and in offshore Atlantic waters. The workboat features an enclosed center console, law enforcement lighting and siren systems, navigation and electronics package and a custom-designed locking weapon stowage.
This delivery is the third of four Ambar 700 series workboats delivered to Maine Marine Patrol and the first of two contracted for 2023 delivery. Silver Ships is proud to deliver high-quality custom vessels across the United States, and to support the missions of the Maine Marine Patrol.
